Seven injured in crash on I-75 South

A day at the beach was seriously disrupted when a man allegedly cut off a semitrailer truck on Interstate 75, spurring an 11 car pileup near the Brandon Mall on Saturday, Aug. 3, media reports show.

The car accident caused seven people were transported to the hospital – two of them in critical condition, four seriously injured, and one who suffered minor injuries.

An Arizona man has been charged with “improper lane change” for cutting off the semitrailer truck.

WFLA.com reported that one of the injured was a man whose car was wedged between the semi and a concrete barrier wall. Fire rescues officials said that they had to call in heavy equipment to get the man out of his car which took about an hour due to the severity of the accident.

“It’s very difficult,” Ronnie Rivera of Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said in the WFLA.com article. “We actually had to call a special tow truck from Stepps Towing to be able to help us remove the 18-wheeler, trailer, away from the car in order to approach the patient and extricate the car away from the patient.”

A careless driver can lead to serious consequences on the roadways. If you have been injured in anautomobile wreck or truck accident due to another driver’s negligence, then you may want to consult with a personal injury firm to protect your legal rights.
